Low Key Date Night

Chris and I love to go to the beach and watch the sunset as often as we can. We normally just go for an hour or so. It’s so peaceful and the perfect way to end the weekend.

This Sunday night, Chris suggested that we get some yummy desserts and go watch the sunset. I was totally on board because those are three of my favorite things in life: dessert, sunsets and my boyfriend. Can’t beat that! We picked up Talenti Carmel Cookie Crunch Gelato, Cheese Cake, Red Bulls, Pellegrino, and Strawberries. We went over to Robert Moses Field 2 around 6:30pm. The sky was a little cloudy, but the sunset was still amazing.

Sometimes I prefer to be at the beach with Chris and enjoying each others company rather than at a crowded restaurant where we can barely hear one another. Our low-key date night cost us $20. There is free parking during the evening at Robert Moses, so all we paid for was our desserts.

Tranquil scenery and good company is all you need. These cool summer nights are just a small reminder that Fall is right around the corner. I will miss these days.

Boyfriend Jeans

I’ve been searching for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans for months now. I wanted to find a pair that I would be able to wear to work, on the weekends, or out to dinner.

No matter how expensive or inexpensive – I could not find the right pair. They were either too baggy or too tight. Over the weekend, I saw a pair in American Eagle that fit perfectly. I love the wash on them (not too dark). They were $49.95 and if you buy a second pair of their jeans you get them for 50% off… Definitely a steal. These jeans can be dressed up or worn casually and that’s exactly what I was looking for.

Below, I’ve styled my boyfriend jeans with other pieces of my clothing for three different looks. Click links below to shop the pieces:

Blazer: Forever 21 / Tank: Nordstrom Rack / Bracelets: Julie Vos / Bag: Chanel / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Tom’s

Blouse: BCBG Generation / Jeans: American Eagle / Wedges: Bettye Muller / Jewelry: Leslie Francesca / Clutch: Michael Kors

T-shirt: H&M / Jeans: American Eagle / Jewelry: Julie Vos / Bag: Chanel / Sandals: Nine West

Snow Cones Before The Gym

Let’s talk about snow cones.. No just kidding let’s talk about snow cone flavored pre workout.

This post is for my girls working that 9-5 and getting to the gym super early/late, moms trying to balance kids, life, your other child (your husband) and the gym, and anyone who needs some energy and some motivation to get to the gym!!!

I’ve never been a pre workout kinda gal, but my day starts at 5am, I get home around 7:15pm (as long as the LIRR is on-time, which is rare, but I’ll save that for another post) and I try to make it to the gym or hot yoga from 7:30-9. I don’t know about you, but by 7:30pm I’d like to crawl into bed and sleep straight through until the next morning, but I have more energy when I exercise, so I knew I needed to find a good pre-workout.

I found BPI Sports 1.M.R. Vortex (snow cone) at The Vitamin Shoppe and it has helped tremendously!!

I drink it on the train on the way home from work and by the time I get to the gym I have that tingly, “I need to keep moving” feeling! If you don’t have a sweet tooth this drink is not for you! It’s super sweet! They have two other flavors: sour watermelon and fruit punch. I haven’t tried them, but I’m sure they are good! I hope this pre workout supplement helps you to get excited and motivated about your workout like it has for me!

The Perfect Gift

Summer birthdays, housewarming parties, engagement parties, weddings… the list goes on and on and the gifts are more mediocre than the year before. Let’s all make an effort to give cooler gifts; Gifts that everyone can use instead of tucking it away in their closet for a better day.

Cool gifts means personalized gifts. Make them feel special. And I’ve got the perfect personalized gift… Lauren Penelope Coasters! Tell me one person, couple or family who won’t use coasters. They are a neccessity in a household.

You just bought this beautiful mahogany wood coffee table and the second thing you buy are coasters, so your friends don’t ruin it with their freshly chilled beer bottles and wine glasses.

And I’m not talking about those thin, flimsy coasters from homegoods that barely withstand one cold glass of wine. I’m talking about high quality, hand-made, make your friends think “wow she must have spent a fortune for these” coasters!

This Long Island Based Entrepreneur/Coaster Designer, Lauren Penelope, has taken Etsy by storm! I am lucky enough to call her a good friend. Lauren Penelope Designs and RTW have collaborated to spread the word about her amazing hand-made coasters. These coasters are made of ceramic tiles, card stock and mod podge with cork on the bottom!

One of her customer reviews said “The quality of the product is outstanding”. She is known for her quality work, timely shipping manner and amazing customer service.

There are coasters for every occasion: New house, birthday, holidays, births, monogram, weddings, quotes, etc. So i never want to hear that you gifted someone dish towels as their housewarming gift (let their mother-in-law buy them those).

Go check out Lauren Penelope Designs and use discount code “RUNTHEWORLD” for $5 off your purchase of $30 or more. Offer ends September 1st, so hurry and get them!

Lush Tea Tree Toner

I just recently started buying Lush products because they pride themselves in using only the freshiest and most natural ingredients. They also don’t test their products on animals and they only buy ingredients from companies who do not commission testing on animals. They test their products on human volunteers.

Besides being an ethically responsible company, i honestly do love their products. Their Tree Tea Water Toner is amazing! I use it in the morning before I put my make up on and it brightens my skin. My skin is either oily or dry, depending on the day, so this toner reduces excess oil without drying my skin. Made of tea tree, juniper berry and grapefruit waters – this toner leaves my skin feeling refreshed and brighter while also balancing my skin tone.

Its the perfect product to travel with. I don’t know about anyone else, but being on an airplane or in a car for a few hours makes my skin gross, so during and after my travels, i use this Tea Tree Water.

The cherry on top is that… it’s not a fortune!!!

3.3 fl. Oz. $9.95

8.4 fl. Oz. $21.95

Victoria & Kraig’s Engagement Party

The most amazing party for the perfect couple. From start to finish, this party played out perfectly. We planned this party for about 3 months – needless to say, we needed all of that time because the ideas and inspiration were endless. The overall theme for the party was rustic and beach(y).

We had a “V & K” table with pictures, personalized popcorn (Party City), date board (handmade), candles, and beach accessories.

Our tables were set up with advice cards (Etsy), hashtag cards (Zazzle) and utencils wrapped with burlap.

The Drink table had Ice Tea, Sangria, and Pink Lemonade.  Accompanied by teal/white straws, fresh fruit and flowers.

Pinterest has been our very best friend for the past few months. Everything came out perfectly and the newly engaged couple couldn’t be happier.

Now all i can think about is planning the bridal shower!!!!
